SMS: Coconut Pecan Frosting

SMS time again! I really love that I joined this awesome group of ladies! It's a great way to force myself to bake new things!! This week's pick was a Coconut Pecan Frosting. Or what I refer to as German Chocolate Frosting, that's normally what I eat this frosting with...German Chocolate cake, however I'm rather fond of brownies. And I needed a quick fix, so a box it was. And it was delicious. Mostly because of the frosting. Be sure to check out Eliana of A Chica Bakes for the recipe!

*I'm trying out this whole 'labeling' thing for photos...haven't decided if I like it or not. It's not like they're super OMG shots...but I feel like if I keep trying hard enough, someday they'll be good enough someone else will want to take credit for them, so I'd better get in practice now. HA!- More ramblings.

Hi Rebecca =)

I think your brownies look fabulous paired witht the yummy frosting. Personally I like the labeling but I guess that's because I do it too! LOL Your pics are great....hopefeully I will get there some day. I laughed at your comment about hoping your pics are so good one day that someone will want to take credit for them. It reminds me of an episode of Ace of Cakes the other day where this bakery in Mexico had used a bunch of their pics!

Well, enough of my rambling... I'm off to finish my baking so I can get it posted.

I think labeling is a great idea! Especially when some of our photos get used without the author's permission by other sites. Has happened to many of us.

Your frosting looks finger-licking delicious! I love your photo and presentation, very nice.

Im glad you enjoyed the frosting. I made brownies too! I used this recipe from my Hershey cookbook.

I like the layout of your blog...very striking. And that brownie looks delicious - wishing I had one of them right now.

Haha you crack me up :) I actually think your photo is great! The color of your frosting is what I'd hoped to achieve but mine was sort of a weird yellow. Oh well... Good call on the brownies, I'm definitely craving them now after seeing them on a few of the blogs this week!

I think that's great styling and worthy of taking credit of! Probably good because it looks amazing! It's great adventuring outside our comfort zones, isn't it!

I agree. Box mix is the way to go. I made mine with a doctored devil's food cake recipe.

Your photo looks great to me! I paired mine with brownies too. Couldn't get too far astray from the chocolate theme =)

Sorry this is late but thanks so much for baking along with me. Love that you used brownies for the frosting. They look super delish.
